Acu-yoga, as the name implies, combines traditional yoga with acupressure to allow energy to flow naturally through the body’s meridians. Releasing this blockage results in improved energy flow and greater overall health. Acu-yoga uses yoga postures rather than just the hands, to isolate the many pressure points within the body. A typical Acu-yoga pose may use the floor surface to apply pressure to the neck and upper shoulder areas for tension relief.

Acu-yoga poses were designed specifically to isolate and stimulate certain muscle areas and organs within the body. Acu-yoga also occasionally makes use of devices designed to use the body’s weight on an object, to apply directed pressure to certain points.
