Acu-yoga in Hawaii

Home > Acu-yoga > Hawaii

Acu-yoga, as the name implies, combines traditional yoga with acupressure to allow energy to flow naturally through the body’s meridians. Those who practice Acu-yoga believe that when tension builds in the body, it collects in certain areas and blocks the flow of life-force energy, or Qi (Chi). Releasing this blockage results in improved energy flow and greater overall health. Acu-yoga uses yoga postures rather than just the hands, to isolate the many pressure points within the body. A typical Acu-yoga pose may use the floor surface to apply pressure to the neck and upper shoulder areas for tension relief.

Acu-yoga poses were designed specifically to isolate and stimulate certain muscle areas and organs within the body. Acu-yoga also occasionally makes use of devices designed to use the body’s weight on an object, to apply directed pressure to certain points.
