Emotional Release Technique or Emotional Release Therapy involves treating the combined emotional lessons that are built up and reinforced over a lifetime. A practitioner of Emotional Release Therapy believes that emotional trauma is not solely caused by horrific events, but can be the result of continued repeats of emotionally disturbing experiences. Emotional Release Technique then, is a process of opening up a channel of communication with the subconscious mind to identify and ultimately resolve the original perception of the emotional pain. Once the pain is fully understood, the belief is that it can be released, as it is no longer a current emotion.
There are many variations of Emotional Release Technique, and modifications to existing techniques are continually evolving as new data and studies of our emotions become known. One factor that all Emotional Release Therapies share is the goal to identify and expel unwanted emotions that restrain growth.
