Kriya

Home > Kriya

Kriya Yoga is an ancient style of yoga brought into modern popularity by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the book, Autobiography of a Yogi. With a focus on spiritual growth and awakening, Kriya Yoga teaches that those who follow the path of devotion and a desire for their own spiritual knowledge can attain self-realization. From the principles of Karma Yoga, Kriya Yoga teaches that all action “kri” is driven by the inner-dwelling soul “ya”. Through continuous awareness, focus on breath and meditation, the inner soul is allowed to come forward and attain the highest state of realization.

Kriya Yoga is based in the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and is the most ancient of Indian yogic practices. This form of spiritual yoga is also entirely non-secular.
