Lypossage
Lypossage is a form of massage therapy designed to reduce the appearance of cellulite and fatty tissue deposits in the body. Lypossage has its origins in massage modalities such as Lymphatic Massage and Deep Tissue or Myofascial Massage. Lypossage treatments vary in application from hands-on massage to devices known as body-contouring machines. In all cases, the purpose of the Lypossage treatment is to break up the fatty tissue that accumulates and to flush the lymph system, leaving the body healthier and with an improved appearance.
The Lypossage technique was invented by Charles W. Wiltsie, a massage therapy educator and practitioner. After conducting a study of 100 female subjects receiving Lypossage, in 1999 he published a book with his results and the popularity of this treatment has grown.
