The Muscle Release Technique of injury therapy is a unique type of therapy that combines compression and extension of the muscles with movement and breath. A Muscle Release Technique therapist works with the injured muscle to break up scar tissue and lengthen the muscle to its intended shape and position. Muscle Relief Technique is intended as a pain relief therapy, using pressure applied directly to the affected area or injured muscle. Working with a client and using a specific combination of extension and compression along the exact place of movement, the therapist is able to target the injury directly.
Muscle Release Technique, as a style of pain relief and injury treatment massage, was developed by Michael Young, a CMT and bodywork therapist. Michael Young trains and coaches therapists in his technique through video and hands-on training sessions.
