Myotherapy

Home > Myotherapy

Myotherapy (See also Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy) uses “trigger points” to provide deep muscle relaxation and relief from pain. This form of therapy uses finger, hand or elbow pressure to release areas of irritation from within groups of muscles that may have been damaged, and teaches a patient to passively stretch the muscle group for continuing relief. Myotherapy and the use of trigger points is said to be effective for relieving and removing pain caused by; arthritis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, menstrual cramps, multiple sclerosis, migraine and other symptoms.

Myotherapy was invented by Bonnie Prudden, who is a lifelong advocate of exercise, healthy eating and pain-free living. Her Myotherapy technique was developed in 1976 and has been taught to thousands of practitioners.
