Positional Release in Arlington, Arizona
Positional Release is a form of movement therapy designed to relieve pain and restore muscles, soft tissue and joints to full function. In Positional Release therapy, the correct position of the muscles and joints rests the proprioceptors and returns the musculoskeletal system to a healthier state. Positional Release is practiced in different forms by osteopaths, physical therapists, massage therapists and alternative healers. This form of therapy has similarities to Ortho-bionomy and may incorporate techniques from this modality.
Positional Release therapy began in the 1950s when Lawrence Jones, D.O. treated some of his patients by assisting them into comfortable and natural positions. In doing so, pain was relieved and after continued treatments, it was eliminated in many cases. He initially called his therapy style “Spontaneous Release by Positioning” and later registered the name Positional Release.
